Today I installed TV Station and moved my QNAP 212 (firmware 4.0.5) to another room. In the process the power plug was pulled out so it did not shutdown cleanly. On reboot I could not login as admin on the web page - it gave the wrong password message. Same with WinSCP using a remembered password, and same with Qfile on my phone, again using a remembered password. I can login as John and do all I have to but I would like to have admin working. I cannot SSH or Telnet as anyone but admin so remote access is now not possible.

This manual provides the description of all the functions of the Turbo NAS. Dec 13, 2018 Hello. I was reading this pdf document QNAP Turbo NAS Software User Manual (Version: 4.3.x) To use Port Trunking on the NAS, make sure at least two LAN ports of the NAS have been connected to the same switch and the relevant settings (IP address, network speed, jumbo frame, VLAN, DHCP Server) have been configured.
The log said to check the file system which I did and on reboot it said the same, so I am doing this again. It seems that the admins password has somehow changed or become corrupted. Any way of fixing this and getting the admin login back? Short of a reset? Everything seems to work as before otherwise and I can access all user and multimedia files which are all backed up anyway. John
Qnap Turbo Nas User Manual 4.3 System
Hello.
I have a laptop running Windows7 Professional, QNAP TS-253A, 1GB wired network, unmanaged switch, router and modem. I was playing around with Port Trunking out of curiosity and find that no matter what type of Port Trunking I use for an unmanaged switch I cannot then access the NAS where it appears under Networking, with a PC logo, in Windows Explorer nor can I expand it and see the managed folders, nor can I access the USB storage device that is plugged into the NAS and mapped as a drive in W.E. I can access the NAS using its IP address in FireFox or by logging in through QNAP Finder.

When I delete the Port Trunking everything returns to normal.

I was just wondering out of curiosity what is happening. I have read the manual put it only tells you how to carry out the Port Trunking, nothing problems or the solving thereof. Thank you. Regards.
